SPRINGDALE — The Fifth Annual Zion National Park Plein Air Art Invitational gets underway today in Springdale. The event celebrates the role art has played in the creation and history of the park .
Two dozen world-class artists from around the world are participating in the event, which runs from today until Nov. 11, and will feature lectures, seminars, auctions, and artist demonstrations.
Artists will hold live demonstrations at various locations throughout the park, Monday through Friday. Free public lectures will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Zion Lodge auditorium. On Saturday, the public is invited to bring their own paints and canvasses to paint along side the invited artists.
