ST GEORGE – Halloween holds a special place in many of our hearts. During this time of year, one of the most perplexing aspects of our culture – its dress code – which can for some be a mask in its own right, is removed momentarily in favor of charade. This freedom allows those valiant and brave costume designers enough brief time to become whatever they want to and make those they love whomever they might envision themselves.
This is often a stimulant for your typical “sultry kitty costumes” or last-second Walgreen’s cookie-cutter costumes. But Halloween can also produce an uprising of the super creative, who emerge briefly from their overly structured lives with a costume masterpiece.
These visionaries valiantly presented there creativity at various locations around town this year. Amongst the costumes of overdone pop-culture references and unimaginative sexy witches, a surprising number of locals displayed absolutely astonishing costumes this year.
Here’s a photo gallery of the most creative and committed costumes of 2013, published before the sun sets and the werewolves rise, for your inspiration. Night sightings will continue to be added, this “night gallery” will deserve a second look.
