How does a truck pull 2 trailers?! I’ve never seen that before. Is it legal to do that? Certainly seems unsafe.

Thoughts are with the family 🙁

It’s fairly common. You can easily weld a hitch to the back of a camper. When it gets dangerous is if the driver is inexperienced, the truck isn’t big enough to handle the weight(I’m not talking about power), or the trailers in question are unsafe or lack braking.

That’s the second fatality accident only within a month or two apart, in the same area only a few miles apart :/
    Prayers for all affected.

Molly: Yea I believe some info on multiple trailers in the DMV book.

So sad. One still needs to keep in mind GVRW. Pulling that weight & many can sometimes mean the tail wagging the dog. My thoughts and prayers for all involved.

    Were there drugs involved?

    • Aly October 21, 2013 at 7:04 pm

Just cause someone is hauling with two doesn’t mean there is drugs. its deer hunt season its more common than not. Prayers for that family.

all reports says no drugs and no alcohol. pretty sure it woud have been reported as a DUI case was there a brain involved in this comment???

All too often we see people who don’t exercise common sense when towing….minivans with u-haul trailers, half-ton pickups with fifth wheels, etc.

Trailers made from pickup beds rarely have brakes installed on them. It’s likely that this caused it to start swaying the whole rig and eventually caused the accident. The truck might not have been set up to handle the weight either.

Remember, just because you have a hitch does not mean that you can pull anything you want.

The report above says there were two 4-wheelers in the back trailer when there was only one. The other was in the bed of the truck. You critical idiots need to show some respect. Hope one day you don’t have something like this happen and have a bunch of … acting like they know a situation and think they are experts when you have lost someone. Condolences to a family that just lost a mother and wife!
