One last beach-party: Sand Hollow Mayhem returns to Southern Utah; STGNews photo gallery

HURRICANE – Hundreds of people gathered at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane on Saturday for Sand Hollow Mayhem. The annual beach-party, put on by Heart of Dixie event coordinators, went on from 10 a.m. until midnight and featured music and dancing, skim-boarding and wake-boarding events, water slides, volleyball and more.

Many of teens and young adults at the blowout were college students from Salt Lake County who came down to Southern Utah for one last bit of summer fun before the fall chill sets in. They couldn’t have asked for better weather yesterday, with sunny skies and a high of 77 degrees — perfect for volleyball, playing in the water, or just catching a tan on the beach. Once the sun went down, music filled the park as a number of DJs took to the turntables, providing the crowd with mad beats to dance to, deep into the night.

    Last time I saw dudes in speedo mankinis playing volleyball was on some east coast beach when I inadvertently walked to a section that was know as a hangout for gay men. Think I saw some of the same mankinis on that beach that I see in these photos… but I didn’t stick around.

      I would say your fascination speedos and gay men is very telling. Sorry you can’t be comfortable wirh your sexuality. You hate because you can’t come out, but we won’t judge you when you do!

        Actually I’m kinda drawn to the PYT dancin in her bikini and cowboy boots on top of the speaker. Haven’t seen that type of butt shakin’ action since happy hour at a rowdy cowboy years ago. That would make a great venue for the beach party, bikini boodies in booties! BTW, is that your daughter shakin her bikini boody thing for all to see?

      Just imagine those chicks in green outfits with the #9 on the T-shirt had orange and black outfits with Hooters across the chest. Just lose the excessive belly button bling. And that chick back flippin? What the heck was that about? Were all the chicks doing tumbling routines?

        Totally agree, if good ol’ STG can have a Victoria’s Secret, several smoke shops, couple bars and liquor stores, now a new nightclub, why the … not get a Hooter’s! This place would almost feel normal!
