WASHINGTON COUNTY – In order to celebrate Child Passenger Safety Week, the Southwest Utah Public Health Department and Safe Kids Washington County are offering free car seat checkpoints.
The first checkpoint will be held in conjunction with Costco’s Safety Fair on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Costco parking lot. The second checkpoint will be held as part of the Learning Center for Families’ 20th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park in St. George Town Square.
“We are excited to be involved with these events,” Public Health educator Cambree Applegate said. “Car seats can be confusing and many parents don’t realize that they’re not installing them correctly. These checkpoints are a great way to learn the ins and outs of your car seat and make sure your children are protected while on the road.”
Discounted car seats will be available for purchase at both checkpoints and all participants will also be entered into a drawing for a free booster seat.
For more information, contact Cambree Applegate at 435-865-5151.
