Lee calls president’s delays on Obamacare ‘shameful’

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Sen. Mike Lee responded to new reports that the Obama administration is delaying another major component of the president’s health care law.

On Monday, The New York Times reported that a rule restricting out-of-pocket insurance costs for consumers, such as co-pays and deductibles, would be delayed until after next year’s election. This provision was originally billed by the administration as a major cost saver for patients, particularly those with chronic disease.  But the cap was leading to huge premium increases, particularly for young families and students.

“Faced with the obvious and predictable consequences of the caps, the administration again faces another embarrassing delay of this unworkable and unfair law,” Lee said. “The president realizes the political consequences of allowing the insurance premiums of voters to skyrocket over the next twelve months and is choosing to lay the burden on the chronically ill and most vulnerable Americans. It is a desperate and shameful political move.

“The best way to delay Obamacare is to defund it. Once Congress returns from the August work period, the House should act quickly to pass a continuing resolution that funds the government, but not Obamacare. It is the only responsible course of action to protect Americans from this ill-conceived and poorly crafted policy before it is too late.”

Obama care is a sad sad program. I don’t want it at all I wish it would disapear completely. The Government has systematically taken more and more from the people while they do less and less and get paid way more. They’ve passed a law so they don ‘t have to participate in ObamaCare and are also working on exempting their staffs (aka bureaucrats) but we now have no other option. It’s frustraiting I don’t want health insurance because I don’t use it. I don’t need it and can’t afford it. I pay my visits in cash for much less than this monthly cost.

Perhaps Mike Lee should read the New York Times article before he “interprets” it for us. Lee tells us that “insurance premiums of voters will skyrocket over the next twelve months.” That just isn’t true. What is true is that for people with chronic conditions, the caps for medical procedures and prescriptions won’t be lumped together for a year. This will give insurance companies time to fix their computer systems to allow for the new law. They are getting a one year delay. One the plus side though, people with pre-existing conditions cannot be dropped by their insurance companies and many will qualify for reduced rates. It is all in the article Mike Lee hasn’t read. Mike Lees’ assertions remind me of Sarah Palin’s debunked “death panels”. What really is shameful is that Utah has to put up with Mike Lee as a senator.

If Mike Lee and his TP cronies spent just a pittance of their time trying to correct any short comings of the ACA and doing something positive instead of making it their narrow minded objective to totally destroy it, they might yet become useful human beings. They think only in terms of burning everything to the ground and starting over according to their plan. Of course, their plan has yet to be formulated. If they totally destroyed Government, they would be standing in the midst of the wreckage, saying “see I told you it wouldn’t work”.

We love Mike Lee and are proud of him. One of the few in government we respect. He is so right.

But what difference does it make (Hillary quote) as Barry is an illegal President and anything he signs is illegal.

Go to these sites and see the truth that the so called “media” hides. We need a Congressional Investigation if we can get our Congressmen to uphold their oath to support the Constitution. Are they in on it also along with Barry?

We are still waiting, Fred. No congressional hearings in sight. You are looking pretty foolish.

Mike Lee is nothing but a warmed over John Bircher who is never going to let real facts get in his way. Has anyone who ever wrote to him in disagreement about anything, ever received even a boiler plate response?

Every single politicion is a dishonest crook. Zero integrity! Yet, y’all continue to vote for these people. I hope our next president is Asian…The healt care plan might be called “chow meng care.” People quit complainning and deal with life as it comes. Or just quit voting for these schmucks(Obama/everybody in politics) to be in office. Problem solved. Then we can overthrow our gov. and fail as a nation like Egypt. DO YOU REALLY WANT THAT? The price of our cell service as gone up %200 but nobody complains about that. You..and YOU know who you are keep buying and paying for cell service. Its not any different than healtcare.

    Hi Chris,

Be patient. They seem to have the supporting evidence. All they need is a fair and honest investigation by Congress.
