FOUND: André Duran, 14, after 4-day search

VERNAL – Just after 8 p.m. today, 14 year-old Andre Duran was found in Ashley National Forest after an intensive search and rescue effort.

According to a statement released by Elizabeth Sollis for the Utah Department of Human Services, Duran is receiving a comprehensive medical evaluation after which he we will be transported to a Juvenile Justice Services Facility.

Duran was last seen Thursday morning at a campsite in the Uintah Mountains while with a group of youth on a supervised camping trip.

A thorough investigation around these events has already begun. The Department’s priority right now, Sollis said, is Duran’s health and safety.

The Department extended thanks to the public, media, volunteers and all first responders who have helped with the effort to find Duran.
