ST. GEORGE – Police continue to look for anyone associated with a white vehicle that overturned on Red Hills Parkway early Wednesday morning. The vehicle was found unattended with nobody present.

A call came in to St. George Communications Center at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in which a passerby reported seeing a vehicle flipped over on Red Hills Parkway. St. George Police responded, located a white car in the area of 900 North and Red Hills Parkway, but could not find anybody at the scene.

When police arrived, because of the suspicious nature of finding nobody at the scene, an accident reconstruction team and investigators were called in, Lt. Joe Hardin said.

As of Wednesday evening, Hardin said the police had checked with local hospitals to see if anyone had come in with injuries that might be related to the incident, there were none. He said the police have no reason to believe any fatality or critical injuries occurred in connection with the incident.

Area roads were cordoned off as members of the Police and Fire Departments spent quite a lot of time searching for anyone associated with the crash.

St. George Police confirmed this morning that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. SGPD Sgt. Sam Despain said the registered vehicle owner has been contacted and efforts continue to locate anyone who was actually involved in the accident firsthand.

Though the accident reconstruction team continues to investigate the scene, Despain said that it appeared the car had been traveling westbound on Red Hills Parkway when it flipped over the median and landed on its top in the eastbound lane.
