CEDAR CITY – The presidential search committee for Southern Utah University will hold a public meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for residents of the region served by SUU to provide input into the presidential search process. The meeting will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in No. 7 Festival Hall at the Heritage Center, 105 North 100 East, in Cedar City. It is free to attend.
Public meetings held in May allowed for community feedback on the development of the position description.
The search committee is now seeking input on the key personal attributes and strengths the community would like to see in SUU’s next president.
The Utah State Board of Regents, a division of the Utah System of Higher Education, is leading the search for SUU’s 16th president after Michael T. Benson announced his resignation in April. With high expectations for the institution’s next president, SUU has steadily heightened its standards over the past decade, refining its focus on its core strengths and distinct advantages as the state’s premier public liberal arts and sciences institution. More information on the presidential search committee can be found here.
