ST. GEORGE – Two vehicles collided on Riverside Drive this morning, resulting in one person being transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center.

St. George Communication Center received a 911 call at 6:47 a.m. from callers reporting a crash at 2450 East Riverside Drive between a white Nissan and a white Lexus.

“The driver of the Lexus was attempting to make a left hand turn and claimed she could not see due to the sun being in her eyes,” St. George Police Officer Derek Lewis said. She did not see the Nissan, he said, until it collided into her as she pulled out in front of it.

Gold Cross Ambulance Service responded to the incident and gave transport to the driver of the Lexus to Dixie Regional.

Names of parties involved are not being released by Police at this time and they were unable to provide current status on the Lexus Driver transported to the hospital.

One citation was given to the driver of the Lexus for failure to yield. St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding is on the case which is still under investigation.
