ST. GEORGE – A single-vehicle rollover occurred on Red Hills Parkway this morning, resulting in one woman being transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center.

St. George Communication Center received a 911 call at 8:35 a.m. from callers reporting a crash just west of 200 East Red Hills Parkway.

The woman, Holly Fox, 25, was driving the white 1993 Toyota Camry when it rolled. There were no other occupants in the car.

“During the investigation,” St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said, “we found that she was traveling eastbound when, for an unknown reason, she ended up hitting the median causing the vehicle to flip at least 5 times before she landed.”

Fox did not know what happened, Triplett said, and there are no witnesses. There do not appear to be road conditions, sun glare or any suggestion of distracted driving or driving under the influence. Cause of the accident is still under investigation.

“She sustained minor injuries,” Triplett said. As of 11:30 p.m., Fox had not been cleared for release from the hospital, he said.

In addition to the Police Department, St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance Service responded to the incident and assisted on scene.

Obviously, it was the fault of the median. . .Wonder how fast she was going to cause her car to flip “at least 5 times?”

    • Ryphlosion June 23, 2013 at 3:12 pm

Uh, no one was saying it was the medians fault jackass. She overcorrected, fishtailed, and slammed into the median and if you knew a thing or two about physics you’d know that you dont have to be going absurd speeds to make a car do that when it has that kind of impact. Thats my sister you’re talking about and she almost lost her life so get your ignorant head out of your … and show some respect.

Just remember what you say on here. There are people who know this girl that seriously were worried about her. Just a thought to be sensitive. She told me that she doesn’t remember what happened except she was tired before she left the house. Plus the speed limit on that road gets as high as 50 mph.

  • tom June 23, 2013 at 10:38 pm

My Evil Twin doesn’t care who is hurt by the assinine comments he(or she) makes. Karma isnt something you can hide from. We all just have to remember that My Evil Twin will get what he/she deserves. It may not be as soon as hoped for but it will happen!!

    Prayers…

  • My Evil Twin June 24, 2013 at 1:16 pm

Geeze, it is too bad I hurt so many wittle feewings here. Of course she is someones sister, daughter, possibly wife and mother, and friend.
That does not change the fact that she screwed up. She could have cost her own life and the life of other people. Sorry, I don’t find too much sympathy for people who drive like idiots. And there are a lot of them. And before you jump on me about saying she was driving like an idiot, obviously she was, or she would not have wrecked.
So bring it on, it won’t change the facts.
I am glad that she was not badly hurt. Maybe having this accident will make a better driver out of her in the long run.

    • Martin June 24, 2013 at 3:59 pm

Damn straight, I agree with evil twin. I’m so tired of all the cell phone-toting morons on our streets, endangering us all. Learn that driving your car is not like sitting at home on your couch.

      • Alvin June 24, 2013 at 9:04 pm

I’m not sure it can all be blamed on cell phones. These medians aren’t as complacent as the double yellow lines. Many medians around STG are just jumping out and attacking these cars. Pay attention out there!!

    • RoboCop June 24, 2013 at 8:40 pm

Yes, besides that, the speed limit the way she was going curves a lot, driving towards the sun down hill, they need to make that road’s speed limit lower, I found myself slowing down before I got their even thought the sign said otherwise. Too many medians with insufficient space.

    • Terri June 26, 2013 at 8:21 pm

So YOU need to get YOUR facts straight!!! It was the car that failed, not the driver!!! You have NO RIGHT categorizing people. Everyone who knows this driver knows for a fact that their life is so much richer for knowing her. She is an awesome person and a terrific driver.

      • My Evil Twin June 28, 2013 at 12:50 pm

Always easy to try to blame it on “car failure.” The car does not drive itself. So if in fact, it was a mechanical failure, just what was it that failed? And where did you get your information?
Did a tire blow out? If a tire blew out, did it blow out and cause the accident, or did it blow out as a result of the accident?
Was there a failure to the steering system? If there was, was it the cause of the accident, or did a component fail when she hit the median?
If it was a tire failure, when was the last time she actually looked at the tires and checked their condition and air pressure?
If it was a component failure, when was the last time she had any inspection or maintenance done to it?
Sure there are mechanical failures. But often those can be prevented by something called “preventative maintenance.” This includes a bit more than putting gas in the tank, and checking the oil.

  • RoboCop June 24, 2013 at 8:30 pm

Wow are you kidding? Watch what you say, I visited her on the hospital after being life flights up to Murray hospital, she is I critical condition and they had just got this car not even 2 months ago, don’t make such prude accusations.

    • My Evil Twin June 25, 2013 at 9:16 am

Oh, so the article was wrong about her having “minor injuries?” I’m sorry to hear that. However, it doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t matter what the speed limit sign says, if you need to slow down and you don’t, you are driving too fast for conditions.
I’m not out to hurt feelings. I am out to try to get folks to think about their driving and stop making BS excuses. If I step on somebody’s toes and/or hurt their feelings in doing so, that is too bad. If your feelings really are hurt, maybe you need to be one to stop and think about your driving. If just one person will take a good long look at how they drive, then hurt feelings are well worth it.
There is not a one of us, myself included, that don’t “screw up” behind the wheel occasionally. We are human, and prone to mistakes. But the more you think about what you are doing when you are driving, the less likely you are to make one of those mistakes.
I’ve responded to hundreds, possibly thousands of motor vehicle accidents over my years with fire and EMS services. I’m sick and tired of the bloody mess. I’m sick and tired of the fatals. And I’m sick and tired of people making excuses for themselves or others, when they do screw up.
So I won’t apologize for hurt feelings. Not when it comes to crashes.

There* the road curves a lot*. Lost sleep does a number on you.

  • Charles Neslon June 25, 2013 at 10:08 am

For people to be so critical and demeaning towards someone they don’t know, over a situation that they don’t have a full understanding of, is ridiculous. It’s easy to be rash and talk a big game over a comment feed. I bet people’s comments in person wouldn’t at all resemble what is being said here.

Moments like this should serve to pull a community closer together, especially in St. George. People shouldn’t use it as an opportunity to pull it further apart by publicly displaying offensive opinions that lack an accurate understanding of what actually happened. It makes one look like a total idiot.

  • Sweet Jude June 25, 2013 at 6:08 pm

My Evil Twin is completely right. What’s wrong is when people take offense to his words. His words are words of caution; they ought to be construed in a way to get people like this young lady to be a little more cautious next time they drive.

The fact that she is someone else’s daughter – that’s irrelevant to the way she was driving. Perhaps her loved ones can learn a lesson from this and be a little more vigilant warning her of her driving habits before she gets caught in another uglier, more gruesome mess than this one was. **You cannot fault anyone else but yourself.**

My Evil Twin – you are exonerated from their accusations, brother. Keep doing the right thing!

  • RoboCop June 25, 2013 at 11:31 pm

I didn’t say I didn’t agree with that, it is very true and I hear daily about people having problems for life because someone stupid was texting, but don’t jump to conclusions on THIS post, this post was made at the time without knowing her arm was broken, she is in a shell casing now. Jumping to conclusions is ridiculous and when you assume and look down on everyone that has an accident without considering what could have happened is pretty shallow to me, I worked with someone that has back problems because a younger girl was texting, had the nerve to say i did it too but guess what, i constantly am bickering about it when others do it. My brother in law was a fire fighter and he ended up having anger problems killing dogs and such in front of his kids, please get you anger under control.

    • My Evil Twin June 28, 2013 at 12:53 pm

Get real. While a broken arm is painful and fairly serious, it certainly is not life threatening. As I said, I’m just trying to get people to get their heads out of their back sides while they are driving. And from you post, it looks like it may just be you that has the anger management issue.

  • Charles Neslon June 27, 2013 at 3:49 pm

It is important to remember that even good drivers can get in accidents like this. People who jump to conclusions and then say degrading things about others only show the world their pretentiousness and stupidity.

  • Darcy Webb June 27, 2013 at 5:41 pm

It is important to remember that there are a lot of good drivers who get in these kinds of accidents all the time. To jump to conclusions and say demeaning things about this person only shows the world your pretentiousness and stupidity.

  • Jim Stout June 27, 2013 at 5:44 pm

Yeah, I agree. My Evil Twin and Sweet Jude are a bunch of inbred idiots.

    • My Evil Twin June 28, 2013 at 1:12 pm

When did two people make “a bunch?”

  • DoubleTap June 28, 2013 at 2:16 pm

I am not going to say that this young lady was using a cell phone. I believe if she says she wasn’t. I am glad that she does not have life threatening injuries and that she will recover. But, I must say that I do, on many occasions, observe a lot of young people texting while behind the wheel. This really is frightening. Especially when they are swerving and crossing the double yellow lines as they try to drive and text at the same time. It is only a matter of time before there will be another so-called “accident”….or worse, a fatality caused be a distracted driver while texting. Be advised that I will and do report these drivers on a fairly regular basis. So if you are one of those that texts and drives and you get pulled over by law enforcement and cited, there is a good probability that it was me who reported you. If it saves just one life…it will have been worth it.

  • Jim Stout June 28, 2013 at 4:12 pm

When you and Sweet Jude made douche bag comments such as “Obviously, it was the fault of the median. . .Wonder how fast she was going to cause her car to flip “at least 5 times?” and “…My Evil Twin – you are exonerated from their accusations, brother. Keep doing the right thing!”

    By the way

A bunch is defined as “A group of people usually having a common interest or association.” The term group only needs to be defined as two or more figures or people. Idiot. Do everyone a favor and stop making dumb ass comments, you conceited prick.

  • Jim Stout June 28, 2013 at 4:47 pm

Ha ha, way to grasp for straws, My Evil Twin.

It became that way when you and Sweet Jude made douche bag comments such as “Obviously, it was the fault of the median. . .Wonder how fast she was going to cause her car to flip “at least 5 times?” and “…My Evil Twin – you are exonerated from their accusations, brother. Keep doing the right thing!”

    By the way

A bunch is defined as “A group of people usually having a common interest or association.” The term group only needs to be defined as two or more figures or people. Do everyone a favor and stop making dumb (…) comments, you conceited (…).

I just wanted to say that I am glad that My Evil Twin admits that he has made a few mistakes in his life. We all have! It is very unfortunate that when a little accident, like not turning the wheel two seconds faster then you should, can turn into someone over correcting and then going over a medium! This is in fact, my sister, and I know for a fact that she is one of the best drivers I have ever met (I’m sure that Evil Twin is thinking I might not know very many drivers… but please, just be a little more open minded then you are use to being, and give me the benefit of the doubt) She never really texts much ever!! And I know she NEVER texts while driving. She also never drinks. On top of that she is super cautious as well.
I do agree with everyone that we need to be more aware and alert and try are hardest not to get into accidents. But, how much can you really prepare for sudden inncedents? I mean as much as I would love to know that if someone ran into the road in front of me, that I would swirve and not hit them and safely move my car to the side of the road without damaging myself, the car, or surroundings… I really dont know what I would do. I can only be more alert and attentive and hope for the best. Things happen to all of us, and assuming that everyone is being stupid and not alert… is pretty childish. I am not looking for an apology… but hope that maybe you will just grow up and start giving people the benefit of the doubt. Until you know the whole story… you really have not right to go on stating what you know the person needs to do better.

  • Enrique Flores June 29, 2013 at 7:54 am

I totally agree. Jumping to conclusions about a situation you know little about, and saying rude things to this person and their family is inexcusable. I for one don’t buy My Evil Twin’s self righteous excuse that he is saying these things to get people to be more aware and think about their driving. You’re just being a jerk and trying to cover for yourself. This article was more than enough to get people to think about their driving and be a little more careful. You’re disrespectful comments are not needed. These people almost lost a family member. They are no doubt going to have some really expensive medical bills, not to mention having to replace the totaled vehicle. The last thing they need is some idiot trying to twist the knife even more. I guarantee you wouldn’t say the things you have said to this lady and her families face, so why say it here? Learn some common decency My Evil Twin. Do everyone a favor and just stop commenting.

    • My Evil Twin June 30, 2013 at 12:32 pm

Whoa there bucko. I have no intention of stopping commenting. But there is nothing that says you have to read it. I suggest you pull up your big girl panties and go on about your business.

  • Sweet Jude July 1, 2013 at 1:52 pm

Wow…sheer ignorance from those who shirk responsibility in their lives. Maybe they are the very same people that get caught with DUIs, DWIs, and are bitter to the very end. This is where they come to spew their venom – and to justify their actions. I would be surprised if any last one of you still have a leg or an arm. The fact still remains, it was late at night when this young lady rolled her car. Bumping into the median – there must have been a distraction to cause her to roll 5 times despite the fact that no one else was around. Always err on the side of caution. If you can’t, you’re in for a rude awakening and just might get lucky, such as the lady in this case. What can speak more than all the evidence when it stares you in the face. Are you bitter and angry with the way this our judicial system takes all things into account, including your cell phones and how fast you go around turns?

    • Ken July 1, 2013 at 5:06 pm

” The fact still remains, it was late at night when this young lady rolled her car.” said by Sweet Jude….Hey Jude since when is 8:30 am late at night? The fact and evidence is that you lack both about what happened!!!

      • Sweet Jude July 2, 2013 at 8:32 am

Whoa there Ken…doll. Whatever you call yourself.

Whether it was late at night or early in the morning makes little difference. You spewing your toxic venom on these websites is the more toxic to your health than you might think. No wonder you can’t make any friends elsewhere. You cannot judge clearly. You cannot have a two-way conversation. I know your type.

The fact is – she was driving when you were asleep or in your drunken stupor. This was when no one else was around. If you want to argue point by little point, or fact by tidbit little bitty fact, go speak with an attorney. I am not one.
