ST. GEORGE – An SUV ran a stop sign and impacted the driver side of a passing vehicle Monday afternoon, temporarily blocking a part of the roadway.
St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said an SUV was traveling eastbound Tabernacle Street around 3 p.m. and ran a stop sign at the 700 East intersection. A pickup truck traveling southbound on 700 East then hit the SUV. Despain said the force of the impact spun the SUV around in the intersection.
Both vehicles blocked part of the roadway for a time and were eventually towed away, reopening the entire intersection to traffic. Officers on scene cited the driver of the SUV for failure to stop at the stop sign.
No injuries were reported and both parties refused medical transport.
