ST. GEORGE – A collision involving two vehicles occurred at the intersection of 100 North and Dixie Drive shortly before 3 p.m. today when an SUV turned left into the path of a southbound sedan.
The collision flipped the sedan, and the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries in noncritical condition.
According to St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain, speed was not believed to be a factor. Southbound traffic, however, has limited visibility in this section of Dixie Drive due to the curve in the road.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the SUV was cited for failure to yield.
Ed. Correction June 18, 2013: Sourcing error. St. George Police Department advised that initial report given here transposed the vehicles in this story. The SUV, not the sedan, turned left into the path of the southbound sedan. The driver of the SUV was the one cited.
