ST. GEORGE – The driver of a vehicle that demolished two yards in a hit-and-run accident early Monday morning has been arrested on multiple charges.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle crashed through the yards of two houses in the vicinity of 1200 North 1500 West in St. George. Both yards sustained damage, along with the vehicle.
“(He) crashed through mine and my neighbor’s yards and ran into my car, which was parked in the driveway,” witness Angie Watts said. “He tore off his rim and door.”
The driver, a 23-year-old St. George man, fled the scene and was later apprehended by St. George Police Department officers, SGPD Sgt. Sam Despain said. He was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident and was booked into Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on $2,000 bail.

I continue to preach that education is key to curbing intoxicated driving behaviors. Some High Schools have taken the initiative and implemented programs to teach their Seniors about the dangers of drinking and driving, but is a one hour seminar enough to knock some sense into them? The boy was lucky nobody was injured or killed.
Oh joy, now we have people driving through backyards! Glad no one was hurt.
I LOVE LOVE this much needed up-to-date news source – The Spec never breaks news stories like this on my FB feed!
Why is it so wrong to list the idiots name? We all just go to the Sheriffs blotter and see who was booked anyway.
