ST. GEORGE – At approximately 8:40 a.m. Thursday, a northbound City of St. George maintenance truck was struck from behind by a GMC Yukon in the intersection of 3050 East and 850 North by Costco.
The truck was stopped in the inside lane at the intersection rear-ended by the Yukon. The force of the collision forced the truck through the intersection into oncoming lanes of traffic.
St. George Police Department Officer Jamison Hale said that the airbags deployed in the Yukon and the driver was being transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center as a precaution after complaining of chest pains.
The driver of the city truck was not injured, though was shaken up by the incident. The Yukon driver was cited for following too close behind another vehicle.
Emergency crews were on scene immediately, the accident was cleared up and traffic flow was restored without further incident.

That is a seriously dangerous intersection… I stop and look for any cars everytime… So many times I have seen people on their cell phones flying through the red lights, I’ve almost been hit 3 times in that intersection.
One of the biggest problems with that intersection, is that if you are on 3050 East, the traffic signal is a “FAST YELLOW!” I don’t know why they don’t do something about that, unless the city thinks it is a good place to get money, buy writing red light runners.
You guys make nonstop excuses, take some rational thinking meds along with counseling. You might realize somewhere along the way that your brain is a very likely determinant in how you drive
When did I say I was perfect? If you don’t know these things maybe you shouldn’t be driving.from reading other articles that you have commented on I would think it was you who thinks you are perfect. All arrogant people do.
A roundabout there would cause even more accidents at that intersection. The city needs to put in consideration having the lights looked at and putting medians in like St George Blvd.

One of my friends was paralyzed on that road on high school. Its so hard to tell if cars are going 35 or 55 either direction.
Not as bad as Industrial Rd and Mall Dr/Telegraph… Regardless, the whole road needs work. Needs another light @ Deseret Dr though
What??? Those 3 roads you named don’t intersect each other. Doesn’t make sense.
I think he means 3050 East and Telegraph/Red Cliffs…. and that one is NUTS! I completely agree! And a light @ Deseret definitely needs to happen.

I’m sorry, I guess everyone is just not quite as perfect as you seem to think you are.
Spot on comment!

So ld and sweet jude are one in the same! Have trouble figuring yourself out?
Apparently this individual has “issues.” Perhaps we need to be kind to him/her/it. . .
I think there are lights at that intersection already. what it really needs is a traffic signal.
I think it’s time for a aroundabout
