SANDY, Utah – Former Washington County Republican Party Chairman Willie Billings was voted in as the Utah Republican Party’s vice chairman during the party’s state convention in Sandy, Utah, Saturday.

The state Republican Party also elected James Evans as the new party chairman. Evans is a former state senator, Air Force officer and owner of a payday lending company.  He will replace current party chairman Thomas Wright who announced earlier this year that he would not seek reelection.
