CEDAR CITY – Southwest Applied Technology College is offering community members a chance to improve their computer skills for free at a series of evening workshops in May and June.

The four topics focus on providing computer literacy and fundamentals like basic word processing, introduction to spreadsheets, enhancing digital photographs, introduction to computers and the internet. The sessions will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and are free to attend.

SWATC’s Business Technology instructors are offering the workshops as a way to promote computer literacy and to give local residents a glimpse of what the college has to offer. Community members are invited to attend as many of the workshops as they want. Participants are welcome to attend any or all of the workshops. There are no requirements to attend the full series and there is no pre-registration. Each workshop has multiple class dates available.

“The same topic will be offered more than once,” Program Coordinator Debbie Drake said. “However, because they are really workshops, not structured classes, the instructor will adapt the time to cover information that individual students may need.”

The free workshops will take place at the main campus of Southwest Applied Technology College in Cedar City, starting May 21.  For more information call 435-586-2899.
