3A Tourney moved; plus Desert Hills reaction to weekend games; STGnews Videocast

ST. GEORGE – Good news for college baseball fans in St. George means bad news for high school baseball fans in southern Utah. Dixie State has received the honor of hosting an NCAA Regional at Bruce Hurst Field this week. Yes, the same Bruce Hurst Field that was supposed to be the location of the 3A State baseball Tournament.

So the prep fans lose as the 3A Tournament has been relocated to Utah Valley University in Orem (with some games at Spanish Fork). While UVU is perfectly suited for hosting a tournament of this type, fans in southern Utah will have to make a major trek to follow their teams -hree of which are in the no-loss bracket in Desert Hills, Snow Canyon and Canyon View.

The UHSAA released a statement, making no apologies, but noting that an updated bracket would be available at UHSAA.org Monday morning.

Meanwhile, after some technical difficulties, we have footage and reaction from Desert Hills after their victories Saturday the first two rounds of the 3A Tourney.
