ST. GEORGE – The Vietnam Veterans of America, Southern Utah Chapter 961, Washington County Veterans Foundation and Zion Harley-Davidson have partnered to host the National Armed Forces Day Freedomride in St. George on May 18.
Participants will gather at Utah Exit 2 of Interstate-15 at 10:30 a.m. for sign-in and briefing. The ride will start at 11:30 and proceed down I-15 to Zion Harley-Davidson in Washington City. Motorcycles will lead, followed by classic cars. Those who want to participate but do not have a motorcycle or classic car can still show their support by viewing the ride from along the route.
From noon to 6 p.m., a barbeque and concert will be held at Zion Harley-Davidson featuring music from the Bluesmen, the Loose Connection Band and the Rock Docs and food from the Veterans Blues BBQ.
There is no cost to participate in the ride, but a $20 donation is required to attend the BBQ and concert. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Washington County Veterans Foundation building fund.
