ST. GEORGE – Rep. Chris Stewart visited two elementary schools in Washington County Thursday, speaking to students about the Constitution. Over the past few months, elementary school classes wrote letters to the congressman asking questions about the Constitution. Based on their letters and questions, Riverside and Arrowhead Elementary schools were chosen as some of the “most outstanding” classes, and received a visit from the Congressman.

“The Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence, are documents our founders envisioned would be used to guide our government,” Stewart said. “Our system of governance has weathered many storms, in part due to these great documents. While our nation changes, these documents still have meaning and guide our decision making. I have great faith in the future of our country, a future that is carried by our children. It is important that all elementary schools students understand the Constitution, as it is the foundation of our government.”

“I was so impressed with the letters I received from the students in Southern Utah,” the congressman said. “Washington County has done such an excellent job at teaching students about our government and the importance of the Constitution. With next week being teacher appreciation week, it is fitting that I was able to spend the day with amazing teachers, educators and students.”

Rep. Stewart will visit two additional schools in northern Utah later this month.

Last month they had to feed me dinner to get me to listen to Stewart’s Tea Party gibberish. Next time cut these poor youngsters a break and send over a fireman or a park ranger

I agree with Biff. Why make those wonderful kids listen to that twit?
