CEDAR CITY – On May 11 and 12, race promoter W.E. Rock Live will operate under a special recreation permit from the Bureau of Land Management to host the Dirt Riot Endurance Race next weekend at the Three Peaks Recreation Area, located seven miles northwest of Cedar City.
The permit allows the World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series, W.E. Rock Live, use of the large group campground and five miles of the southeast section of the Three Peaks Recreation Area at the end of Midvalley Road. From 5 p.m. on May 11 to 7 p.m. on May 12, access will be restricted to times that do not interfere with the race, in order to provide for public safety.
This restricted access is in conjunction with the Dirt Riot Endurance Race rock crawling event occurring on May 11 at the Three Peaks County Park, permitted by Iron County. Restricted areas will be roped and clearly marked with signs. Additionally, intersections along primary routes will be staffed by race personnel. To view the race, parking will be available at the off-highway vehicle trailhead, with access to a spectator area.
Access to the remaining OHV trails, as well as the Welcome Center, Iron County Campground, Equestrian, Mountain Bike and Model Port areas will remain open for use. Visitors are advised to access the Three Peaks Recreation Area using the Three Peaks Loop Road (also known as the Shooting Range Road).
