ST. GEORGE – It was a busy day in southern Utah, with off-road races, prom day dates and a kite festival. Not to be outdone were the dedicated track and field athletes from Region 9 and other local schools, who laid it all on the line in the Dixie Fly High Invitational at Walt Brooks Stadium.
Desert Hills won top team honors on the boys side, far outdistancing host Dixie. Pine View finished third in what turned out to be a 14-team meet. On the girls’ side, Cedar continued its dominance by outscoring Desert Hills, with Ogden taking third. There were 19 girls teams with representatives in the meet.
All in all, the fine St. George weather made for some decent race times and several records were set.
