W2W4: Less than a month until state tournaments

ST. GEORGE – It’s down to a month or less until the state playoffs/tournaments for all spring sports and, of course, that means that these mid-April contests become very important. A win or loss now could have a huge bearing on where your team ends up come playoff time.

Here’s a list of the first day of state for each spring sport:

Baseball – May 11
Softball – May 11
Girls golf – May 16
Boys soccer – May 2
Boys tennis – May 16
Track and field – May 17

Tonight’s match-ups feature first vs. third in baseball (Desert Hills vs. Dixie) and first vs. second in softball (Snow Canyon vs. Canyon View). All three teams tied for first in soccer should be favored to win tonight in Dixie, Desert Hills and Pine View. There is also a huge track meet at Dixie High Friday and Saturday.
