The Dixie Blue & Grey Civil War Living History Association will be joined by the Hands-on Civil War Living History Company of Nevada and historian Dr. Paul Gooch. Both organizations are nonprofit educational groups dedicated to sharing knowledge of the Civil War and keeping American history alive.

“We are a local organization with a hands-on approach,” Association Artillery Captain Tim Metzinger said.

Dressed as both Confederate and Union soldiers, group members will vividly recreate the epic battles of the Civil War for the enjoyment of East Elementary students and the public, complete with horses and antique weaponry. The demonstration will begin at 12:30 p.m. and last for about two hours. Attendance is free and donations are welcome.
