ST. GEORGE – Three vehicles were involved in an accident at 200 North and 300 West Sunday evening when a blue Honda failed to stop at a stop sign.

St. George Police Lt. Doug Sargent said responders were called to the scene at 5:30 p.m.

A blue Honda, driven by a Salt Lake City woman, was traveling southbound on 300 West towards St. George Boulevard when she failed to stop at the intersection of 200 North, hitting a red pick-up truck travelling through the intersection.

As the Honda hit the truck it caused it to flip up and the Honda to go under it, Sargent said, and as the truck flipped the Honda then hit a white passenger car traveling passing by.

“That’s why it looked so gruesome,” Sargent said, “however, nobody was seriously injured.”

He said no one required transportation to the hospital, they all walked away.

The woman driving the Honda was a mother with two children in her car, all buckled up, the driver of the red pick-up was also buckled up, as were the occupants of the white passenger car.

Sargent said there no contributing factors, the only citation given was to the woman for running a stop sign.

Sure there was a “contributing factor.” Basic stupidity, coupled with driving with HUA. I have witnessed more than one crash at that intersection. People routinely run that stop sign, often without even slowing down or looking before entering the intersection. It is unfortunate the innocent people, (like children) are subjected to the dangerous, stupid actions of their parents.
