ST. GEORGE – Police are looking for an individual who was allegedly involved in a police pursuit and set his vehicle on fire.
Following a pursuit initiated by a Washington County Deputy, St George Police and Fire responded to a vehicle on fire at the Port of Entry near the Utah/Arizona border. County Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 27-year-old Christian Barroso.
Barroso is wanted out of California for a parole violation. It is believed that Barroso set fire to his vehicle and fled the scene. Barroso was last seen in the area of the Port of Entry near the Utah/Arizona border.
The remains of a high capacity magazine and a rifle were located in the burned vehicle. There was also hand gun ammunition located inside the vehicle, however no handgun was located. Officers from several agencies spent hours attempting to locate Barroso, including a helicopter from the Department of Public Safety.
At this time Barroso had not been located and his whereabouts are unknown.
Christian Barroso is described as 5 foot 7 inches tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Barroso should be considered armed and dangerous. Citizens should not approach, contact, or pick-up any individual they do not know, and should call the police immediately.
Citizens in the area should be aware of this individual and contact police immediately if they observe any suspicious individuals matching this description.

woke up to helicopters circling overhead, lights flashing all around our yard about 3:30 am. went outside to see what was going on. probably not the smartest move. spectrum breaking news says same vehicle/suspect ran from police south I-15 about an hr earlier.
