Two men arrested for vehicle burglaries in Mesquite

MESQUITE, Nev. – Mesquite police arrested two California men for vehicle burglaries Saturday.

Mesquite Police officers responded to the area of 780 West Hafen Lane on a report of two vehicles being broken into Friday evening.  Witnesses stated two Hispanic males in a grey Nissan Sentra with California license plates were seen in the area just prior to the vehicles being broken into.

Early Saturday morning, officers observed a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses traveling west on Mesquite Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop for a routine traffic infraction.

Upon contact with the driver, officers noticed several items in the rear passenger area fitting the description of stolen items that was given by the victims.  After further investigation officers determined that the items were in fact stolen and placed both males under arrest.

Police arrested an 18-year-male and 20-year-old male, both of Los Angeles.

Both men were arrested on two counts of auto burglary, one count of grand larceny, and one count of possession of stolen property each.

They were taken to the Mesquite Detention Center for processing and then transported to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
