CEDAR CITY – The Cedar City Junior Ballet‘s cast of over 50 dancers brought to life the work of Marius Petipa and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in its performance of Sleeping Beauty Friday and Saturday night on the Randall L. Jones Theatre stage at Southern Utah University.

The ballet group performs yearly, and contains a wide variety of skill levels and ages. The cast for this year’s production included dancers as young as 4 years old, faculty and students from nearby Southern Utah University, and many people in between.

Grants and private donations are the primary source of funding for the nonprofit group that relies heavily on rap tax, CCAC grants and private donations.  Continued community support is essential in perpetuating performing arts for the community.

Thanks for these beautiful photos and for mentioning the RAP fund. Cedar City needs to renew this in Nov. and it is essential to this group as well as many others.
