ST. GEORGE – A three-vehicle accident on Red Hills Parkway Wednesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital and affected traffic.
Officer Derek Lewis of the St. George Police Department said that around noon, a car traveling westbound on Red Hills Parkway near 1000 East attempted to turn into a business parking lot. A second vehicle traveling eastbound on Red Hills Parkway was sideswiped by the first vehicle. The impact pushed the second vehicle into another vehicle about to turn out of the parking lot.
One of the drivers involved, a 50-year-old male, was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, Lewis said. Traffic on Red Hills Parkway was slowed for a time until the incident was cleared.
The driver of the first vehicle was cited for failure to yield.
Lewis said accidents at this section of Red Hills Parkway are typically minor incidents, and that to have one involving three vehicles was particularly uncommon.
