St. George Police Department seeks information in stabbing/aggravated assault

ST. GEORGE – The St. George Police Department is seeking information from the public in a stabbing/aggravated assault incident that happened Monday afternoon.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 1911 West Sunset Boulevard.  Initial reports suggest the suspect and victim were in separate vehicles traveling in different directions, and when they passed each other there was some sort of an actual, or perceived, visual exchange.

The victim entered the parking lot and was confronted by the occupants of the vehicle he had just passed.  A verbal exchange took place, during which one of the occupants of the suspect vehicle produced a knife and slashed at the victim.  The victim sustained a cut to his arm which did not require immediate medical attention.  The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police and has yet to be located.

The case is actively being investigated and officers are following up on leads.  If anyone was in the area and saw something that may help the investigation, they are encouraged to call the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4300.
