CEDAR CITY – On Saturday, businesswomen in Southern Utah will gather at the first annual Women in Business Expo for workshops, speakers and a vendor fair focusing on helping women elevate their business skills and balance their life.
Cedar City Women in Business, a service branch of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, has created this event to help raise additional funds for their scholarship program while offering an educational event to the community.
“We have tailored this event to cater to women involved in every aspect of business, whether that woman is an employee or employer, a home based business or a storefront owner or a woman looking to enter the workforce,” said Rachelle Hughes, president of Women in Business.
Registration and the vendor fair open at 9 a.m. The fair will offer a variety of products, from crafts and jewelry to business service booths. Workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature well-known motivational speakers, business leaders and entrepreneurs covering such topics as marketing, interviewing, customer service, self-publishing and self-empowerment.
The central event of the expo will be the poise and professionalism luncheon, featuring motivational speaker and Mrs. Utah Elizabeth Anderson and a business dress fashion show by Coldwater Creek.
An $8 fee covers the vendor fair and workshops, while the luncheon costs $15. Proceeds from the expo will benefit the Women in Business scholarship fund, which awards scholarships to women pursuing degrees at an accredited university or college in Iron County.
