Cyclist injured on Bear Claw Poppy trail, Life Flighted

ST. GEORGE – A man was airlifted to the hospital after a cycling accident Saturday afternoon.

The St. George Communications Center received a call around 1:20 p.m. concerning a male riding a mountain bike on the Bear Claw Poppy Trail, which runs between Green Valley and the Bloomington neighborhood of St. George. The individual had an accident while riding and was complaining of possible neck injuries. First responders were called to the scene and Life Flight was dispatched as well.

After finding a suitable place to land close to the scene, Life Flight took the man to Intermountain Healthcare Southwest Region’s Dixie Regional Medical Center, dispatch said, for treatment around 3 p.m.
