Motorcycle accident on St. George Boulevard sends rider to hospital

ST. GEORGE – A motorcycle accident on St. George Boulevard Friday afternoon sent one man to the hospital.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. on St. George Boulevard near 750 East, heavy traffic was slowed almost to a stop. The rider of the motorcycle made an abrupt stop to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of him but lost control and crashed. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries.

Sgt. Albert Gilman of the St. George Police Department said the rider was alert and conscious at the scene, but had an open wound visible on his head.

He was transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
