ST. GEORGE – The excitement builds in beautiful Southern Utah as the “best in residential living” is displayed for its 23rd consecutive year. The 2013 St. George Area Parade of Homes opens Friday and runs daily through Sunday, Feb. 24.  Whether you are a potential home-buyer  recreation enthusiast or are exploring the latest in architecture, design and décor, the 28 extraordinary homes displayed in this year’s event have something to offer everyone.

All homes are newly constructed with exceptional interior design and architectural elements that are further enhanced by the remarkable Southern Utah landscape as a backdrop.

This year’s state-of-the-art home building technology, design, material and craftsmanship will embrace all five of our attendees’ senses.  The St. George area offers great weather, beautiful scenery and a relaxing environment.  Local builders, trade contractors, designers, and suppliers rise beyond the ordinary – showcasing those natural environments into the unique designs and landscapes of each home.

“This year’s Parade is full of ideas, inspiration and unequaled imagination – living works of art nestled in the glory of Southern Utah,” 2013 Parade of Homes Chairman Kelly Stephens said. “It’s not just about beautiful homes or the perfect lifestyle; it’s about creating dreams for people to build on.”

With today’s low interest rates, competitive home prices, and a great selection, now is a great time to buy a new home in Washington County. The 28 entries displayed in the Parade have over 85,000 square feet of innovation, inspiration and ideas for viewers to build on.

“This is an exciting year for the Parade. Not only do we have 28 new beautiful homes on display, but real estate is growing again and home demand is increasing; indicating a trend toward a stronger Southern Utah market,” said Austin Anderson, Southern Utah Home Builders Association 2013 president.  “We expect that this year’s Parade will be well attended because it has so much to offer.”

This year’s event will feature designs representing French Country, European, Mediterranean, Southwest, Traditional, Tuscan and Craftsman, as well as Vintage industrial design.  These homes will feature grand entryways; spa reflection areas; master suites that pamper like royalty; kitchens that would make any chef envious; and family areas that entice all those gathered to reconnect and relax.

The values of the Parade entries range from $304,000 to $2.7 million, and are located in St. George, Washington, Hurricane and Ivins.

New this year, Parade visitors will have the opportunity to win many great prizes, including free car washes for a year.  All visitors have to do is find and scan the QR code in each home – smartphones or tablets required.  The scan will provide each visitor with detailed information on the home and the builder.   The more homes visited and scanned; the greater the prospect of receiving a prize increases.

Tickets go on sale beginning at 5 p.m., Feb. 14, at various locations including Red Cliffs Mall, Lin’s Markets and Zions Bank branches in Washington County.  Tickets are also being sold online at www.paradehomes.com.  Tickets prices are $12.50 for all visitors 3 years and older.  Homes will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., except for Sunday, February 24 when homes will close at 5 p.m.

Attendees are invited to join in the positive economic impact the St. George Area Parade of Homes generates in Washington County, and to experience the best Parade of Homes in 23 years!  This event, displaying a wide variety of price and style, set in this serene and picturesque red rock paradise, make the St. George area an appealing affordable destination. There is something for everyone – casual, relaxed Southern Utah living; year-round outdoor recreation, arts, theater, shops, dining, world class health care and the home of Dixie State University – it’s all here.
