ST. GEORGE – A female pedestrian was transported to the hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle accident at a crosswalk Friday.
Sgt. Craig Harding of the St. George Police Department said several vehicles were traveling eastbound on Foremaster Road around 12: 57 p.m. when the accident occurred. A blue Ford Focus stopped for a female using the crosswalk when it was rear-ended by white Dodge pickup, causing the Focus to be shoved into the female.
The female was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center with head injuries.
Harding said the investigation was ongoing and names had yet to be collected, as police were still taking witness statements at the time.
The eastbound lane of Foremaster Road was shut down and subsequently reopened around 1:20 p.m.
