BRIAN HEAD – Last Friday, Brian Head Resort opened for the 2012-13 winter season offering prices that maintain Brian Head Resort’s long-held position among the best values of North American snow sports venues.

A 35 percent savings on already low-priced weekday adult lift tickets awaits visitors. The new Brian Head Midweek Punch Pass provides five adult, full-day lift tickets for only $159. This equals less than $32 per day, rather than the regular price of $49. The pass is fully transferable and good for one punch per weekday. Passes are available online and at all resort ticket windows.

A new “Learn to Ski and Snowboard” offer will be available Jan. 12, 13, 26 and 27. For only $45, participants will receive a two-hour lesson, equipment rentals and a full day lift ticket for Chairs 4 and 6 on the beginners’ mountain.

Participants will also receive a coupon for two $45 “Get Better Lessons,” regularly $79. They include a full-day lift ticket, rentals and 1.5 hours of instruction. When participants complete both lessons, they will be eligible for a 50 percent-off season pass for the remainder of the season, equipment rentals and a free lift ticket to bring one person for a day into the resort. The lessons are restricted to youth and adults age 13 and over. Reservations are required.

Also new at Brian Head this season is the College Student Season Pass, for only $299. It’s offered to everyone under the age of 26 with a valid student identification and is available through Dec. 31 at the season pass office.

Prices remain the same on regular lift tickets, with adult full day tickets remaining for $49, children age 12 and under and seniors age 65 and over for $35. Half-day tickets are $40 and $29, respectively. Holiday full-day rates are $56 and $40 full day and $46 and $33 half-day. Children age 5 and under ski free with a paying adult.

The resort will be open Friday through Sunday only until Dec. 13, and will be open seven days a week from Dec. 14 until its scheduled closing date of Apr. 14, 2013. The resort will be open on Thanksgiving Day.
