ST. GEORGE – Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah is pleased to announce the selection of their next homeowner partner, Tia Muhlestein.

The organization’s Family Selection Committee reviewed many applications, evaluating each based on the ability to repay a zero percent mortgage loan, willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity, and level of need for safe and stable housing. Muhlestein was eventually selected to be the 18th homeowner partner in Washington County.

A previously owned home at 208 North 2040 East in St. George is being rehabilitated by Habitat for Humanity with generous contributions from numerous local businesses and individuals and volunteer labor by the Muhlestein family and members of the community. Muhlestein and her 6-year-old daughter Rylee are looking forward to having a home to call their own this holiday season.

The public is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for this home on Nov. 7 starting at 6 p.m. The ceremony will include remarks from Habitat for Humanity personnel, the Muhlestein family and City of St. George councilman Gil Almquist.
