ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s computer and technology program and Community Education Channel will continue their Technology and Entrepreneurship forum series on Thursday with a presentation by web developer Rick Jones.
An alumnus of DSC, Jones became interested in web development while attending school. After graduating, he began his career by designing and building websites for several local businesses. He currently works at DSC, where he is collaborating with a team of developers to build a new interactive learning system for the school. He also helps design web and mobile business applications for the St. George-based CABOsoft, LLC.
The forum will begin at 12 p.m. in the Boeing Auditorium (Room 121) of the Udvar-Hazy Business Building on the DSC campus. For those who cannot attend in person, it will be available to watch through a free live online stream.
The Technology and Entrepreneurship series is a bi-monthly event that will be held throughout the 2012 fall semester. It provides an opportunity for anyone interested in technology-based entrepreneurship to learn from those who have been successful in the field and are willing to share their experiences and perspectives.
“One of the things that is really interesting in the delivery of the forums is that (they) will be streamed live,” said DSC computer and technology Professor Eric Pedersen. “We are excited about the technical capability.”
