SOUTHERN UTAH – New information may shed light on the potential destination of two teens from Southern Utah.
Oceia Granger, 15, of Toquerville, and Kade Shearer, 15, of La Verkin, were reported missing by relatives on Saturday, Sept. 29.
Deb Shearer, Kade’s mother, told St. George News the teens left the Hurricane area between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday in a Chevrolet Blazer that was later reported stolen. Before taking the Blazer, which belonged to a family member, Shearer said her son took a laptop and a jar of quarters – between $100 and $200 worth. The teens may have been paying for gas and other items in quarters, or may have stopped by a bank to exchange the coins for dollar bills.
Shearer said the family didn’t know about the laptop and jar of quarters missing until Wednesday.
She added that Kade and Oceia could be headed to one of three possible locations – California, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin. The teens have family in each state. Shearer said those family members had been contacted and are putting up flyers of the missing teens in their areas.
The Blazer the teens took from Hurricane was found abandoned in Sanpete County early Monday morning, according to authorities. Later that same morning, a blue 1996 Dodge Neon that had been parked near the site of the abandoned Blazer was reported stolen. It is suspected the teens may have taken the Neon, but Sanpete County officials said there was no definitive proof they were behind the theft.
“We’re really worried,” Shearer said. “We just want them home.”
Detective Nate Abbott, of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, said sheriff’s deputies are keeping a lookout for the teens should they return to Washington County. There is particular worry because of their ages.
“Obviously their age is a concern to us,” Abbott said.
Ociea and Kade may be traveling in a blue 1996 Dodge Neon and may still be in Utah, or headed to California, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin.
Oceia Grainger is described as 150 pounds, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. Kade Shearer is 165 pounds, 6 feet tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.
Anyone who has seen the teens or has any information is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 435-634-5730, or Deb Shearer at 435-680-0397, or Shirlz McArthur at 435-216-6644.
A Facebook page has also been set up as a resource to help find the missing teens.

I imagine these kids will come crawling back to their parents when they realize how totally unequipped they are for the challenges they’re facing. Based on this report, they strike me as grossly incompetent runaways. I ran away when I was 7 years old with my dad’s .. and never looked back.
Why was the model of my dad’s gun censored?
They went missing back on the 29th and we’re just now getting news of this??
435, this is an update. Here is a link to the first news report on this – ours, published last weekend – we have been updating by comment or otherwise periodically as any new information or lack of information is confirmed. It was time to post a full new updated story.

Oh my bad. Thanks Joyce, I love your news team 😉
I’m sure it was censored because it was an inappropriate thing to say. You never know who reads these posts. It could be a child reading it and seeing that could give them the wrong idea. You love trying to get under peoples skin but sometimes you should think a little harder before you decide to say something like that. I know you also don’t care about the well being of others so this explanation will do nothing to get you to care that your words can potentially harm someone, but you asked so you got an answer.
