SOUTHERN UTAH – Two teens have been reported missing and may be connected to an allegedly stolen vehicle.

Ociea Granger, 15, of Toquerville, and Kade Shearer, 15, of La Verkin, were reported missing by relatives over the weekend.

Deb Shearer, Kade’s mother, told St. George News the teens left the Hurricane area between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday in a vehicle that was later reported stolen. That vehicle was subsequently abandoned in Sanpete County early Monday morning according to authorities.

Also on Monday morning, a blue 1996 Dodge Neon was reported stolen from the area in Sanpete County where the Hurricane vehicle was abandoned. Though there is speculation the teens may have taken the Neon, Sanpete County officials said there was no definitive proof they actually had.

“We’re really worried,” Deb Shearer said. “We just want them home.”

Detective Nate Abbott, of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, said sheriff’s deputies are keeping a lookout for the teens should they return to Washington County. There is particular worry because of their ages.

“Obviously their age is a concern to us,” Abbott said.

Ociea Grainger and Kade Shearer may be heading back to Washington County, or traveling north, and may be traveling in a blue 1996 Dodge Neon.

Anyone who has seen the teens or has any information is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 435-634-5730, or Deb Shearer at 435-680-0397, or Shirlz McArthur at 435-216-6644.

I’m not sure why I feel this way, but I have a sneaking suspicion that these kids may be involved with drugs.

  • Heather October 2, 2012 at 12:16 am

Does it mater? There is obviously some confusion in the hearts of these two CHILDREN, whatever the reason, I pray they both are returned to the loving arms of their parents! That is what we as a community should be doing!

Murat…another brilliant insight from the King of Inane County. Shut face.

    • Murat October 2, 2012 at 7:20 am

I don’t know why but I have an unusually high intuition quotient.

Murat, It is so obvious that you have abused your bong for far too long. Your brain has become so immuned to whatever substance you put into your bong that you are merely speaking nonsense. Do us all a favor and start using your hyperdermic needle…with any luck, you’ll pass out for a week.

        • Murat October 3, 2012 at 10:00 am

I’ve become “immuned,” have I? Idiot.

Again…nothing but name calling and hateful comments from you. The silent majority is sick of your negativity. Please, please, please find a forum that wants to feed off your shared filth and knock yourself silly.

Murat, thanks for proving my point.

          • Murat October 4, 2012 at 9:20 am

            I’m here to stay, dolts.

Why is it that everything gets blamed on drugs…? As someone who knows the young man, he is a good kid, and a hard worker!!! I don’t know the reason they chose to run off, but it would be nice if it seemed like more people actually cared about the situation

  • Heather October 2, 2012 at 11:47 am

KF, I feel exactly the same way. I had driving this young man back and forth to school last year and getting to know him. He is a teen going through what so many teens go through. He is a sweet, funny and smart young man, who needs love and support to get him back on the right path.

Sad. Does anyone know if they have found them or if there’s any update on where they could be?
