ST. GEORGE – Red Rock Center for Independence along with sponsors Zion’s Harley Davidson and Desert Thunder Cycle Works have their first annual Ride and Drive for Independence charity poker run today.
It is open to motorcycle clubs and individual riders, classic car clubs and individual drivers, and the general public.
Motorcycle riders will launch between 10 and 10:30 a.m. from Desert Thunder Cycle works at 955 N 1300 W #6 (off of Sunset), and cars will launch from Findlay Automotive at 1405 S Sunland Dr., both in St. George.
Poker-card punch stops are designated along the scenic Gunlock Loop. The participants will end at Zion Harley Davidson located at 2343 N Coral Canyon Blvd. off I-15 at the Hurricane Exit in Hurricane, where lunch, live entertainment, auction, and prizes will be waiting.
The St. George HOG chapter members will be at designated poker card-punch stops along the scenic Gunlock Loop. Prizes for the best, second best, and worst poker hands will be awarded following the auction. Gift cards in the amount of $500, $250, and $100 will be awarded respectively.
Entertainment by The Don’t Laugh At Me Players and the band “Closure” will be provided. A drawing for a brand new television sponsored by Farmers Insurance Company and lunch catered by Brick Oven Pizza will be among the happenings at Zion Harley Davidson.
Besides many generous donations from local merchants and service providers, the live auction by auctioneer Travis Brown will highlight a Disneyland Package for four.
Red Rock Center for Independence is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people with disabilities in southwestern Utah to live independently through education, personalized services, and technology. The Center teaches independent living skills, teaches and provides individual and systems advocacy, creates peer support opportunities, and connects individuals with other community services through information and referral practices.
