ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s weekly “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” series continues this Tuesday, Sept. 11, with a special presentation in remembrance of 9/11 by DSC student and United States military veteran Shaun Timothy. The Forum will be held at 12 p,m., in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the DSC campus.
Admission is free for all community members, DSC students, and faculty and staff.
Timothy, who is a senior biology major, will share his perspectives in his presentation entitled “A Young Veteran’s Reaction to the War on Terror,” which will discuss patriotism and loyalty and how the two tie together. He will also speak to the importance of education in developing views about what society finds to be acceptable and distasteful. Timothy is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served as a radio operator and forward observer.
The weekly Dixie Forum series will continue its 2012 Fall Semester slate on Tuesday, Sept. 18, featuring a presentation on addiction and adversity by Matt Blanchard.
