SOUTHERN UTAH – Of construction activity and impacts scheduled for this week by the Utah Department of Transportation in Washington and Iron counties, the impact most anticipated will be the opening of the Dixie Drive Interchange on Thursday.
The construction related activities throughout Washington and Iron counties include:
I-15 Truck Climbing Lane – Toquerville to Pintura exits
Activity:
* Placing road base material.
* Constructing retention walls.
* Paving.
* Installing guardrail by southbound lanes.
Impact:
* 11-feet lane widths.
* Traffic lane shifts.
* Single southbound lane closure overnight.
SR-18 Redhills to Milepost 6.5 – Bluff Street north of Red Hills Parkway for 2.5 miles.
Activity:
* Hauling material.
Impact:
* Single lane in each direction.
SR-59 Apple Valley to Hurricane – Mileposts 11 to 23
Activity:
* No work is anticipated this week.
Impact:
* No impacts expected this week.
I-15 Lunt Park Rest Area, Iron County – North of Paragonah
Activity:
* Removing concrete.
* Excavating roadway.
* Hauling material.
Impact:
* Rest area is open. Please respect work zone barricades and follow traffic control signs.
I-15 Summit to Paragonah – Mileposts 69 to 83
Activity:
* Rotomilling.
* Paving.
* Bridge repairs over I-15.
Impact:
* Weekday single lane closures during construction hours.
Cedar Canyon / Restore SR-14. – on State Route 14, in the area of Mileposts 7-18.
Activity:
* Stabilizing slopes at Milepost 7.
* Structural work near Mileposts 9 and 17.
Impact:
* Final week of daytime closure.
* Open overnight Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
* Alternating single lane traffic with short signal delays at two locations near structural work.
* A small portion of the road is not paved.
* Beginning Friday, Aug. 3, at 5 p.m. the road will remain open all hours for access through the canyon.
