ST. GEORGE – The Dixie Rebels were in town Saturday night as they took on the Rocky Mountain Mudd Ducks. Unlike last week, the Rebels jumped out to a big lead early as they lead 35-0 at halftime on their way to a 47-14 win.

The Rebels really moved the ball around as Andy Stokes, Sione Tapousi, Brennan Adams, Stephan Cook, and Miguel Rivera each scored one touchdown while Dallas Irvin was the only Rebel that scored two touchdowns.

The Rebels had to overcome a few obstacles in order to pull off the win. Not only were they missing kicker and punter Steve Pulver and running back Kyle Coop, but quarterback Diarra Fields rolled his ankle in the second quarter and sat out the rest of the game.

With the action across the Rocky Mountain Football League, the league leaders are becoming apparent. Going into the game the Utah Shock was the only undefeated team and the Dixie Rebels, Wasatch REVolution, Treasure Valley Spartans, and Utah Stealth all had one loss each. However, the Stealth beat the REVolution 26-9, and the Shock beat the Spartans 31-14. That leaves the Rebels (4-1) and the Stealth (3-1) as the only one-loss teams left and the Rebels will get to play both the Stealth and the Shock (4-0) in St. George.

If they win their last three games, Great Falls Gladiators next week, the Stealth on May 19th, and the Shock on June 2nd, they will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
