DSC Dance Company presents spring dance concert

ST. GEORGE – Come join the Dixie State Dance Company for an evening of dance as we present the 2012 Spring Dance Concert. The dance concert will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 12 and 13, at 7:30 p.m., in the DSC Eccles Fine Arts Center Mainstage Theater. Dancers will perform various genres of dance including ballet, modern, world, hip hop, tap, ballroom, and jazz. Artistic dance faculty members and students choreograph and perform creative and moving dances that express a variety of emotion, imagination, and passion through movement.

This semester the Dance Company is made of 17 dancers who are trained in a variety of dance styles, and are all full-time students at Dixie State College: Derek Brazeau, Sidney Felther, Emily Gardiner, Keith Goodrich, Sarah Hendricks, Alexis Holden, Wyatt Hopkins, Maddie Miller, Kristina Moyle, Darien Ortega, Taylor Peterson, Brooklyn Pulley, Azra Sega, Colton Smith, Kelby Stallings, Abbigail Valadez, J. Daniel Woodstock.

The Dixie State Dance Company was established in 2001 by its Artistic Director Dr. Li Lei who has been the director of the Dance Department at Dixie State College since 2000. This spring the dance faculty members are Katherine Call, Roy Fitzell, Amelia Kirchhausen, Heather Sprouse, Kristen Thompson, Jennie Wood, John Wuehler, and Megan Young who are all experienced dance instructors.

The Dixie State Dance Company annually presents spring and fall dance concerts. The dance concerts are very well received by our audience and the tickets sell out frequently. Come join us for an exciting night of inspiration and culture.

Tickets are available at the Cox Performing Arts Center ticket office, 435-652-7800. Adults are $12; Senior and Youth are $10; Students re $2 with DSC student ID.
