Sheriff deputies bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters

ST. GEORGE – Deputies of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office have formed a bowling team – the Purgatory Fireballs. The team will participate in the Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters to be held at the Dixie Bowl on March 24.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah offers donor-funded community and school based programs that match children with role models.  The role models help kids stay in school and develop better relationships with family and friends as they spend one-on-one time with their matched kids.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters largest national fundraiser and has raising over $20 million annually for children in need across the country.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake expenses are underwritten by corporate sponsors, making 100 percent of the money raised go directly to supporting children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Individuals and groups interested in creating a team, or joining an existing team in need of additional members, can do so at southernutahbfks.kintera.org.

To reserve a place in a bowling session contact Teri Iverson at [email protected], or call 435-986-9776.

People can also donate to Big Brother Big Sisters or a specific team participating in the Bowl for Kids’ Sake.

The Dixie Bowl is located at 146 E City Center St  in St. George, 435-673-3272. Bowling sessions will be held at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and to 1 p.m. on March 24.
