Senatorial debate to be held in St. George

SALT LAKE CITY – U.S. Senate candidate Dan Liljenquist confirmed today that he will be debating Sen. Orrin Hatch and state Rep. Chris Herrod on April 4 in Draper and April 16 in St. George.

“I look forward to the opportunity to finally debate Sen. Hatch in person,” Liljenquist said. “Rep. Herrod and I have participated in 6 debates to date, but Sen. Hatch has yet to be heard by delegates.”

Liljenquist continued: “The high number of newly-elected delegates deserve every opportunity to see the candidates in person and learn about their records. I trust that Sen. Hatch will not only hold to his existing debate commitments, but agree to additional opportunities to allow delegates to see the differences in the candidates during open and honest debate.”

The debate on April 4 is jointly sponsored by the Republican Women of Utah Valley and the Utah Federation of Republican Women. It will begin at 7 p.m. at Juan Diego High School, 300 E 11800 S in Draper.  It will be moderated by Utah GOP chair Thomas Wright.

The debate on April 16 is jointly sponsored by the Dixie Republican Women and the Utah Federation of Republican Women.

Additional details will be forthcoming as they become available.
