UPDATED March 8, 2012 – 12:16 p.m. upon information released by Mohave County Sheriff’s Department.
CENTENNIAL PARK, Ariz. – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded yesterday to a vehicle rollover that had occurred sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. Deputies found five dead at the scene and one injured.
Patricia Carter, Public Information Specialist for Mohave County Sheriff’s department said that a Chevy suburban carrying a mix of six teens and young adults rolled over on Big Warren Road, approximately 17 miles south of Centennial Park.
Deputies responded to the scene upon receiving notification around 4:43 p.m. on March 7.
Five persons were declared deceased and one survivor was airlifted to Dixie Regional Medical Center.
Carter said that alcohol may be a factor in the incident. Investigations thus far have determined that the Chevy Suburban that they were traveling in failed to negotiate a turn on a dirt road.
The Sheriff’s department has released the following information:
The deceased victims are: Monica Joy Bistline, 17, of Apple Valley, Utah; Carl Otto Nathaniel Holm, 22, of Hildale, Utah; Rachel Anne Kolgrove, 17, of Cane Beds, Ariz.; Virgel Taylor Roundy, 15, of Colorado City, Ariz.; and Jamison Holm Timpson, 19, of Colorado City, Ariz.
The only survivor is Nakita Timpson, 18, of Colorado City, Ariz. She is admitted at Dixie Regional Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing and autopsies are scheduled for March 12.
