Panthers beat Falcons for second Region win

CEDAR CITY – The Pine View Falcons beat the Canyon View Falcons for the second time this season, scoring a 39-38 win last night at Canyon View High School.

The Panthers trailed by three going into the final quarter against the winless Falcons.

Panther freshman Kody Wilstead recorded a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Mitch Godfrey added 11 points for the Panthers.

The Falcons’ Chad Corry added 11 points and David Stone chipped in one for the Falcons.

Panther freshman Jed Newby made a free throw with one second left to give the Panthers the lead.

The Panthers improve to 2-8 in region play and host Cedar on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Falcons fall to 0-10 in region play and take on the Dixie Flyers at 7 p.m Friday.
