WASHINGTON CITY – Two 18-year-old St. George men were arrested by the Washington County Drug and Gang Task Force following an incident on Sunday.
Washington City Public Safety Officer Ed Kantor said the two suspects were allegedly involved in a verbal confrontation between the occupants of a vehicle and a group of skateboarders in a business parking lot in Washington City.
One of the occupants brandished what appeared to be a gun during the incident, though no shots were fired or injuries reported. Information from the scene indicated the incident may have been gang-related.
Washington City Public Safety officers notified the Washington County Drug and Gang Task Force who assisted in this case. The suspects were located in a St. George business parking lot soon after.
Kantor said further investigation resulted in the arrest of two 18-year-old St. George residents. A 16-year-old male found with the men was later released by task force officers.
One of the suspects was arrested on a count of inciting a riot. The other was arrested on one count of inciting a riot and one count of brandishing a firearm in a threatening manner.
A handgun was later recovered at a residence where the suspects were staying.
